  • Relief for Holidaymakers at the Hotel Roda Beach in Corfu?

HolidayTravelWatch has noted with some relief, a report from ITN, that holidaymakers who went to the Roda Beach Hotel in Corfu, in 2007, and who reported that they had suffered burns from the hotel swimming pool, are to be compensated.

The case in question was first brought to light by HolidayTravelWatch, who dealt with a large number of holidaymakers, not just from the UK but also several holidaymakers from Holland.

HolidayTravelWatch are pleased to note that the tour operator have made an admission of liability, and are preparing to negotiate damages for those hollidaymakers so injured.

However, in the last few days, HolidayTravelWatch has received a disturbing report from holidaymakers of problems within this hotel pool.  They have reported to HolidayTravelWatch that they have entered the pool and suffered with stinging eyes and skin.  The resort representative is reported to have said that this ’sensation’ is due to the salt water content of the pool.  These holidaymakers went into the sea several days thereafter, and did not suffer the same ’sensations’.

Frank Brehany, the Senior Consumer Advocate for HolidayTravelwatch states:

“We are concerned to hear of similar reports again, and wonder how many other holidaymakers have also been affected?  I would hope that the hotelier, and tour operators using this hotel, will now take immediate steps to investigate and deal with any potential problems with this pool, before another tour operator has to make an admission of liability”

All Holidaymakers affected by these issues should contact HolidayTravelWatch without delay on 08450179229
