Price War = More Poor Standards? | The Crows Nest Blog | HolidayTravelWatch
I am on my travels, helping holidaymakers where I can, to deal with their holiday problems. The last few weeks has seen a real rise in the number of complaints we have dealt with. As I write, we have placed 79 ‘Call to Arms’ on our website, by comparison to this time last year, when we had only 52! The range of complaints involve poor hygiene, shabby properties, salmonella, shigella, dientamoeoba fragilis, calicivirae, holiday accidents and so on, all from a wide range of travel providers!
Then what do I see within the British press? Great excitement at the prospect that you can book a holiday for £2 a night! For those tempted by the real feast of what is on offer, hold back and ask yourself, what kind of deal am I really getting for that? For some reason the saying ‘All that glitters is not gold’ springs to mind. Let’s hope that the standards offered by these operators, within these properties, are much higher that what we have seen so far in this holiday season!
